Real Martina Liana Bride Rebecca + Sean

Ever dream of going on the TLC show Say Yes to The Dress and shopping at the legendary Kleinfeld bridal? Well, that’s exactly what happened to Navy bride Rebecca. Not only did she find an incredible Martina Liana Wedding Gowns with the help of Kleinfeld bridal, but she also got married in Central Park on TV for the  Say Yes to The Dress: America season finale!

The Proposal

My husband and I had been dating for seven years prior to getting engaged. We met in college and after graduation, he decided to join the US Navy. Hawaii is his first duty station, so before making the big move I went out to visit for a few days. While there, he told me he had stumbled upon this beautiful pond and that he wanted to take me. It truly was a breathtaking spot. We stood on the pier and watched the morning sun reflect off of the gorgeous mountains where Jurassic Park was filmed. He then got down one knee and popped the question. Finally!

My bridal style is form fitting and flashy! I am very into fitness and work hard in the gym every day, so I definitely wanted something that would show my curves and accentuate my backside!

My dress shopping experience was one of a kind! For Say Yes to The Dress we were split up into groups and went shopping at the legendary Kleinfeld, but there were still about 20 women with their consultants running around the showroom trying to grab their dream dress! It was a bit overwhelming, but my consultant, Shay, was very helpful.

After explaining what I wanted, he grabbed a few dresses and we got to work. He must be a genius because the first dress I tried on was it! The very first gown that he pulled for me was a Martina Liana gown that was form-fitting with a deep V neckline and beading. After trying on multiple dresses I was unable to get the first Martina Liana dress out of my head and I knew that it was the one. As if finding the most beautiful dress wasn’t already enough, I even had the honor of meeting Martine Harris, the designer herself!

I decided to put the gown back on. I walked out to show my family the dress a second time. Shay then placed a flower crown on my head, my mother began to cry, and I knew it was the one! I said yes to the dress! I will honestly never forget this day. I have never felt more beautiful in a dress in my entire life.

The wedding details

In addition to the wedding in New York for Say Yes to The Dress, my husband and I also eloped in Hawaii and had a big family ceremony in Texas. Yes, we had THREE weddings! Since the New York wedding was a group ceremony, it was difficult to add a personal touch, but my bouquet had hibiscus flowers to represent Hawaii and my husband wore his military uniform.

My wedding was in Central Park for Say Yes to the Dress America was with 51 other couples each representing a state in the United States. I never thought in my wildest dreams I would ever participate in such an event, but I am so happy I did. I met 51 amazing women, some of who I plan on keeping in touch with forever. While the group was very diverse, we all came together untied in love and were married right by Bethesda Fountain!

The Hawaiian elopement was special because it was only my husband, myself, and a pastor on a cliff overlooking the ocean. There was very little planning involved, no real color scheme, and no stress. It was very sentimental and it will always be one of the best days of my entire life.

The Texas wedding was our big wedding with all of our family and friends! It was a bohemian theme with multiple colors. The best part about the Texas wedding was the people in attendance, friends, and family who we would not get the opportunity to see very often after the move to Hawaii. Additionally, my dad was finally able to walk me down the aisle and give me away to the man of my dreams!

Becoming a Kleinfeld “Say Yes to the Dress” Bride

“At the beginning of 2019, and for most of my entire life for that matter, I have not felt comfortable in my body. With my wedding rapidly approaching, I remember thinking about dress shopping and DREADING it. In January I ended up purchasing a Wedding Gowns on a whim and immediately regretted it. It was a beautiful dress but it wasn’t MY DRESS and I let my negative self-talk persuade me into buying it so I didn’t have to go to any other boutiques,” Emily said.
“I spent the next few months flip-flopping on my dress choice and feeling defeated that I spent so much money on a dress that didn’t make me feel like myself.” With just a few months from her big day, Emily was losing hope in having her true bridal style moment.

“I love podcasts. From true crime to current events, I listen to them all! One pop culture podcast in particular, The Morning Toast, had mentioned the opportunity to participate in Say Yes to the Dress. After a few interviews and a very silly casting video, my husband and I were chosen to represent his home state of Vermont!”

“We were flown out to New York City to film and over the course of the next few days, we connected with 51 incredible couples! We met Randy Fenoli and participated in a once in a lifetime wedding event in Central Park.” While Emily and husband James loved the ceremony, Mrs. Fisher’s favorite part was her Kleinfeld experience!

“My favorite day was when I visited Kleinfeld with my mom and aunt Sandra. My consultant, James McAlvanah, and special guest designer Martine Harris made me feel like a princess! The anxiety I had about my body faded away. In the moment of trying on dresses, I truly felt beautiful regardless of the size on the label. Reflecting on this now, it almost feels like fate.”

Emily chose Essense of Australia Style #D2478, a romantic lace design with an asymmetrical neckline that brings all the romance to any wedding day. The slight fit-and-flare silhouette of this gown gives it a relaxed vibe, which is perfect for it’s soft, layered lace details. A plunging V-neckline is the focal point of the bodice and is highlighted with organic, botanical lace details that extend into its unique, asymmetrical neckline. The back of this gown is open, highlighted on either side with sheer, floral lace details. Soft sparkle adorns the skirt and continues into a long train, complete with a floral hem.

To complete her bridal vision and showcase her Vermont pride, Emily went for an earthy, boho vibe. “I accessorized my breathtaking gown with white Birkenstocks, gold maple leaf earrings, natural hair clips and a bouquet of Red Clovers, Vermont’s state flower.”

Emily describes the entire experience as “simply amazing.”

“My favorite moment was walking down the sprawling staircase leading to the breathtaking Bethesda fountain and seeing my future husband with a huge, loving smile on his face. I’ll admit that I cried all the happiest tears when I reached the last few steps!”

Congratulations to the Fishers on representing the great state of Vermont, saying “yes!” and “I do!”

Real Martina Liana Bride Taylor + Jacob

Bride Taylor knew she didn’t want a typical, traditional wedding dress – she wanted something a little bit different. Of course, it helps when one of your best friends just happens to be the manager of a bridal boutique! For Taylor and Jacob, their wedding was a symbol of their love, both elegant and colorful. Read on to find out more about their big day!

The Proposal

Jacob proposed to me the night before I graduated from my Master’s program. All of my family and his family were in town for my graduation but quite a few more family members surprised me the night before for the proposal! He proposed with a ring he designed where every diamond was from the ring my dad, who passed away when I was younger, gave my mom.

I wanted to sparkle! I have always loved “different” dresses and Style 1046 had everything I wanted! Lace, plenty of sparkles, cut-outs, and a long train! My best friend (and one of my maids of honor) is a store manager at White Weddings. They were having a Martina Liana trunk show and I just knew I had to go! She picked out a ton of Wedding Gowns for me that we had been sending back and forth to each other but of course, in the end, it was a dress my mom found that I went with! Moms know best!

The wedding details

I really wanted an elegant theme with a pop of color. My bridesmaids and maids of honor wore Desert Rose and our flowers were white, blush, some mauve, and greenery. All accents for the day were gold. For Jake’s day of present, I got him socks with my face on him.

Besides marrying my best friend, the most special memory was my “father/daughter” dance. My dad passed away when I was younger and my mom surprised me big time. My grandfather (his father), my uncle (his brother), and all of his best friends took turns dancing with me and telling me things about him. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!
